The District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles Southwest Inspection Station, located at 1001 Half Street, SW, will observe code red service hours today and close two hours early at 1:00 p.m. due to temperatures which are expected to reach 100°, with a heat index of 105°. The Inspection Station opened at 6:00 a.m. today.
The Southwest Inspection Station provides vehicle inspections. Customers
are encouraged to watch media coverage, check our web site (dmv.dc.gov) or
contact us at 202-727-5000 to ensure the code red service hours are not
cancelled or extended due to a change in the weather.
The Southwest Service Center located at 95 M Street, SW will continue to observe regularly scheduled Saturday service hours. The Southwest Service Center provides driver services (driver license/identification card applications/renewals, vehicle registrations/renewals, dealer, IRP, bus trip permits and taxi services).
All other DMV Service Centers and Adjudication services operate Monday through Friday and are closed on Saturdays.
