DC DMV Opens First of New Customer Service Centers

(Washington, DC) – In keeping with the administration’s promise to move services into the community, Mayor Anthony Williams and DMV Director Sherryl Hobbs Newman cut the ribbon at a new DMV customer service center at The Shops at Georgetown Park on Monday, December 3, 2001. This new facility serves residents of DC in a state-of-the-art environment. Director Newman said, “Moving to all quadrants of the city has been a goal for this department for some time. We are excited to begin our expansion with the Georgetown location, and we look forward to opening additional offices that will provide DMV service to residents right in their own community.”

Council member Jack Evans added, “ I applaud the efforts of Sherryl Hobbs Newman and the DMV in bringing government services to the neighborhoods. I am extremely proud the new office is located in Ward 2 and look forward to seeing future offices in other neighborhoods throughout the city.”

The new DMV is located at the lower level of the mall at 3222 M Street, NW. Its hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm. Services include drivers license renewal and registration renewal; the office also issues residential parking permits and driver records.
