You will receive a renewal notice approximately 60 calendar days prior to your tags’ expiration. You may renew your disability vehicle tags online.

You must complete an application for disability parking placard or tags and follow the vehicle registration renewal process to renew the disability tags.


Renew Parking Placard and Permits

Temporary and long-term parking placards are renewable within 60 calendar days of their expiration. The one-week parking placard and permit is not renewable within a one-year period.

You must complete an application for disability parking placard or tags and submit it to DC DMV to renew a temporary or long-term disability parking placard.

In-Person

You (or your designee) can renew your disability parking placard in-person at any DC DMV service center.

Note: If you give someone permission to renew a temporary or long-term disability parking placard for you at a DC DMV service center, then that person must bring a copy of your DC DMV credential, a fully executed power of attorney, authorizing him or her to act on your behalf
