You will receive a renewal notice approximately 60 days prior to your tags expiring. You may renew your disability vehicle tags online, or by mail at

You must complete an Application for Disability Parking Placard or Tags [PDF] and follow the registration renewal process to renew the disability tags. You will be required to pay the tag renewal fee.

Renew Parking Placard and Permit

Temporary and long-term parking placards are renewable within 60 days of their expiration. The one-week parking permit is not renewable within a one-year period. You must complete an Application for Disability Parking Placard or Tags [PDF] in order to renew a temporary or long-term parking placard. You (or your designee) may renew your parking placard in person at any DMV service center location, by fax at (202) 673-9908 or by mail.

If you give someone permission to renew a temporary or long-term parking placard for you at a DMV service center, they must bring a copy of your drivers license or identification card and a letter that is signed by you with them to the DMV service center.
