The DC Elder Abuse Prevention Committee is sponsoring a financial fraud prevention program for District seniors at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 2430 K Street, NW from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. The program will focus on descriptions of financial scams that target the elderly and methods to help the elderly self-protect themselves from scammers. The program will also provide portions of training from “Money Smart for Seniors,” a financial education program developed by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
