Online Identification Card Renewal

You may renew your identification card online if you can satisfy all of the online eligibility requirements below.  If you can't satisfy all these online requirements, please visit a DMV service location to renew your identification card.

If you have AND
An identification card that doesn't expire within the next 10 days
An identification card that expires within the next 60 days
An identification card with 2 photos in the front and a barcode on the back
Your current name and address on file at the DMV.  The DMV will mail your identification card to your current address on file at the DMV.
Your identification card number, first name, last name, social security number, and date of birth.
A valid credit card.  The DMV accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. DMV does not accept American Express.
You haven't
Recently changed your address or name and not updated the information with DMV
Updated your identification card number to reflect a computer-generated number. (A recent federal law prohibits your identification card number from being the same as your social security number. Therefore, if your identification card still reflects your SSN as your identification card number, you must visit a DMV service location to renew your identification card.)
Online Identification Card Renewal Five-Step Overview
  1. Enter your identification card information.
  2. Update your organ donor information.
  1. Pay for the online identification card renewal using a valid credit card.
  2. Review payment information.
  3. Print the confirmation page for your records.
Online Identification Card Renewal: Within 10 business days, DMV will mail your identification card to your address of record.
