Temporary Tags are valid for 45 days and are only issued for the purpose of getting a vehicle inspected and registered. Only one (1) temporary tag is issued to be displayed on the rear of the vehicle (exceptions are considered).

To obtain Temporary Tags, the following must be submitted:

• Properly endorsed vehicle title
• Proof of valid DC insurance
• DC Driver License or non driver identification card
• Temporary tag fee applies
