Obtain Organizational Vehicle Tags

In addition to the regular series vehicle tags, the District has a number of organizational tags from which to choose. In addition to the regular registration fee, there is also a member application tag fee.

If you would like to obtain organizational vehicle tags, contact the participating local organization for an application and approval. All organizational tag types are available at any DMV service location.

Required

You must bring the following to the DMV location to obtain organizational tags:

• Organizational Vehicle Tag Member Authorization Letter (on page 11 of the Application)  [PDF]
• Valid Identification of the Registered Owner(s)
• Existing Vehicle Tags  
  (Note: If you do not surrender your existing tags, you will be liable for any tickets that may be received by the tag.)

If you plan to display the organizational tags on your vehicle, you must surrender both of your current vehicle tags and registration card and pay the additional member application tag fee.
