DC DMV Correcting Insurance Lapse Letters Sent in Error

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The DC Department of Motor Vehicles has discovered that on February 8, 2018, numerous insurance lapse notices were mailed incorrectly indicated the resident had an insurance lapse.

DC DMV is working to determine the number of residents that were affected. All errors will be automatically corrected by February 14, 2018. Additionally, impacted residents will receive individual letters notifying them of the error and the correction.

DC DMV apologizes for any inconveniences this error caused and is working to identify the reason for the error and prevent its reoccurrence.
