DC DMV Opening Benning Ridge Service Center on March 1, 2016

Friday, February 12, 2016

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) will open its Benning Ridge Service Center located at 4525 Benning Road, SE on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 8:15am. This new service center is replacing the existing Penn Branch Service Center, which will close at the end of the business day on Saturday, February 27th.

At the Benning Ridge Service Center, customers will be able to receive the same services that are available to them at DC DMV’s current locations. Additionally, this service center will have a private, confidential area where HIV screening will be offered. The hours of operation will be Tuesday – Saturday from 8:15am – 4pm.

DC DMV Director Lucinda Babers said, “The DC Department of Motor Vehicles is pleased to open our newest location, the Benning Ridge Service Center. It is our largest service center and is accessible to customers by various modes of transportation. Benning Ridge will be a full service facility and customers will be provided with the same services that are provided at the three other service centers: Georgetown, Rhode Island, and Southwest.”

DC DMV encourages customers who are required to conduct their transactions in-person to prepare for their visit by reviewing pertinent information on the agency’s website at dmv.dc.gov. Additionally, many customers can “Skip the Trip” by conducting their DC DMV business online or through the mail. The agency offers more than 45 Internet and mail services, enabling customers to complete DC DMV transactions at their convenience and outside of the agency’s regular business hours.
