Today, DC DMV Opening Georgetown Service Center

Opening at New Location in The Shops at Georgetown Park

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, Tuesday, April 29, 2014, the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) is opening its Georgetown Service Center in a new location at The Shops at Georgetown Park. Located at 3270 M Street, NW, Canal Level, Washington, DC 20007, the hours of operation will be Tuesday - Saturday from 8:15am – 4:00pm.

DC DMV Director Lucinda Babers said, “The DC Department of Motor Vehicles is pleased to open our newest location in Georgetown. While we are returning to The Shops at Georgetown Park, the service center is larger than the previous one and will enable us to better serve our customers.” Babers added, “Georgetown will be a full service facility and customers will be provided with the same services that are providedat the three other service centers: Southwest, Penn Branch, and Rhode Island.”

With the opening of the Georgetown Service Center, DC DMV will have four service centers open within the District of Columbia – one in every quadrant of the city.

Additionally, Brian Hanlon, Director of the Department of General Services (DGS), said, “DGS is committed to elevating the quality of life for District residents, and we are honored to have worked with our sister agency, the Department of Motor Vehicles, to bring the valuable services that DMV provides back to Georgetown and the community at large,” said Brian J. Hanlon, DGS Director.

DC DMV encourages customers who are required to conduct their transactions in-person to prepare for their visit by reviewing pertinent information on the agency’s website at dmv.dc.gov. Additionally, many customers can “Skip the Trip” by conducting their DC DMV business online or through the mail. The agency offers more than 40 Internet and mail services, enabling customers to complete DC DMV transactions at their convenience and outside of the agency’s regular business hours.
