-DC DMV online services and mobile app driver license and ID card transactions will be unavailable from 2-6 pm on Sunday, April 21 due to scheduled maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience.

-DC DMV will no longer prevent DC residents from applying for a new or renewed driver license because of failing to meet the requirements of the Clean Hands Law.

In observance of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Holiday and Inauguration Day, the Department of Motor Vehicles will observe the following holiday schedule:

Saturday, January 17 - All DMV Facilities will be Closed
Monday, January 19   - All DMV Facilities will be Closed
Tuesday, January 20   - All DMV Facilities will be Closed
Wednesday, January 21   - All DMV Facilities will be Open

When the DMV reopens on Wednesday, January 21, we typically have an increased volume of customers on the day after a holiday and will be extremely busy. Therefore, please plan your visit accordingly or use our online services
