-We are experiencing a system error that is causing duplicate refund checks to be issued to some DMV customers erroneously. If you have been affected by the glitch, to quickly resolve this matter please deposit or cash one check and destroy the other. If you attempt to cash the second check, it will not be honored by the bank.
We apologize to all DMV customers for the inconvenience as we diligently work to rectify this issue.

DMV Introduces New Online Ticket Email Alert Service

Friday, October 22, 2010

District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) continues to be a model agency in terms of providing enhanced opportunities for service delivery. One of our latest online enhancement allows customers to register to create a single account that provides near real time notification of ticket-related activity on up to four vehicles and a single driver license. Once the account is established, customers will be required to provide key information to verify their identity before the account can be activated and before access to the ticket information is granted. The account will allow customers to be notified when tickets are issued and to receive reminder emails before negative consequences or punitive sanctions are imposed, such as the assessment of late penalties or vehicle impoundment.
