All DC DMV locations will be closed on Saturday, February 14, 2026 and Monday, February 16, 2026 in observance of Washington's Birthday. On February 5th, the Georgetown DMV Service Center experienced a significant water main break. Due to flooding impacts, the Georgetown DMV Service Center will remain closed to the public until further notice.
DC DMV's services will remain available at our other locations, online and via our mobile app.
Commercial carriers that transport people or operate heavy duty vehicles in the District of Columbia require DC DMV authorization or permits. These vehicles are regulated in part either under the International Registration Plan (IRP) or by trip permit.
