WASHINGTON, DC) – In observance of Emancipation Day, all District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) locations will be closed on Thursday, April 16, 2015. All DC DMV service centers, adjudication services, and the inspection station will resume regular business hours on Friday, April 17, 2015.
Customers are encouraged to plan ahead as the days before and after a holiday are usually busy. The following services are available online at dmv.dc.gov:
· Renew vehicle registration (can only be done online or by mail; no in-person visit)
· Obtain duplicate vehicle registration
· Obtain duplicate driver license
DC DMV has more than 40 online services, enabling customers to “skip the in-person trip.”
