(WASHINGTON, DC) – In observance of Independence Day, all District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) locations will be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, 2015. Adjudication Services will resume regular business hours on Monday, July 6, and the service centers and inspection station will reopen on Tuesday, July 7, 2015.
Customers are encouraged to plan ahead as there is very high customer volume on the days before and after a holiday. The following services are available online at dmv.dc.gov:
· Renew vehicle registration (can only be done online or by mail; no in-person visit)
· Obtain duplicate vehicle registration
· Obtain duplicate driver license
DC DMV has more than 45 online services, enabling customers to “skip the in-person trip.” Additionally, with any online or in-person transaction in which DC DMV collects money, customers now have the option to make a donation to the DonateLifeDC organ donor registry to support organ and tissue donation for people located in the Washington, DC community.
