District DMV Offers Driver Knowledge Test in 15 Languages

Practice Knowledge Tests are Also Available Online

(WASHINGTON, DC) – To fulfill its mission of promoting public safety be ensuring the safe operation of motor vehicles, the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) now offers its non-commercial driver license Knowledge Test in 15 languages:

·        English;

·        Spanish;

·        French;

·        Amharic;

·        Korean;

·        Vietnamese;

·        Mandarin;

·        Cantonese;

·        Arabic;

·        German;

·        Japanese;

·        Portuguese;

·        Russian;

·        Tagalog, and

·        Thai.

Additionally, in order to prepare for the Knowledge Test, DC DMV offers a practice test online. It is available in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Amharic, Korean, and Vietnamese. The Knowledge Test can be taken at any DC DMV Service center Tuesday – Saturday from 8:15am – 3pm. No appointment is required.

DC DMV Director Lucinda Babers encourages residents to study for the test, as it is required to ensure that potential drivers understand the rules of the road and are able to drive safely.
