-We are experiencing a system error that is causing duplicate refund checks to be issued to some DMV customers erroneously. If you have been affected by the glitch, to quickly resolve this matter please deposit or cash one check and destroy the other. If you attempt to cash the second check, it will not be honored by the bank.
We apologize to all DMV customers for the inconvenience as we diligently work to rectify this issue.

-DC DMV will no longer prevent DC residents from applying for a new or renewed driver license because of failing to meet the requirements of the Clean Hands Law.

A Message from Director Robinson

DC DMV Director Gabriel Robinson

DC DMV offers more than 55 online services and many of the most frequent transactions can be completed by "skipping the trip" and downloading our mobile app.

In this month's newsletter, we feature safety tips on motorcycles and remind riders that they require more skill and coordination to operate than a car. May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and as the weather gets warmer, more motorcyclists are out this time of year. Our safety tips give more insight into how motorcyclists should follow the rules of the road and obey signs and signals.

Additionally, please note that our Inspection Station will transition to spring/summer operating hours starting on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Finally, please join me for our DC DMV Live Chat held the first Thursday of each month. I'll be online for a full hour to respond in real-time to any of your DC DMV related questions. Our next online live chat is scheduled for Thursday, June 1 at 12 p.m

Thank you for reading this edition of our newsletter. Enjoy and stay safe!
