Veterans Specialty License Plates

Tuesday, November 10, 2020

DC DMV U.S. Armed Forces Veteran Tags

Just in time for Veterans Day, and in honor of the individuals who have served this country, District of Columbia veterans will be able to purchase a veterans specialty license plate from the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) beginning November 10, 2020. The new tags include separate designs and emblems for each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces including:

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Marines
  • Air Force
  • Coast Guard

The specialty tags are available at all DC DMV service centers. Veterans will pay a one-time application fee of $52 for the specialty tag, and a yearly display fee of $26. Both the application and yearly display fee will be donated to the Office of Veterans Affairs Fund.

"It’s an honor to offer our local veterans the opportunity to display these one-of-a-kind license plates so we can all recognize these heroes for their service to our country," said DC DMV Director Gabriel Robinson. "Additionally, the fees for these specialty tags will benefit the Office of Veterans Affairs Fund, which provides critical services to so many veterans."
