Membership Organization Tags

DC DMV offers members of certain organizations special vehicle tags. A list of organizations that currently have vehicle tags is available at the link below:

To obtain a membership organization tag to register to your vehicle, you will have to pay an extra member application tag fee in addition to the regular vehicle tag fee. You will also have to pay a tag replacement fee if you are replacing other tags on your vehicle.

If you would like to obtain organizational vehicle tags, contact the participating local organization for an application and approval. All organizational tag types are available at any DC DMV service location. Information on DC DMV service centers is available at the link below:

You must bring the following to the DC DMV service center:

  • Organizational Vehicle Tag Member Authorization Letter (on page 11 of the application package)
  • Valid identification, including DC DMV driver license, learner permit, or identification card of the registered owner(s)
  • Existing vehicle tags
  • Applicable DC DMV Fees (Note: The member application tag fee is deposited into the District's general fund.)

Note: If you do not surrender your existing tags, you will be liable for any tickets issued to that tag.

Also: If your organization would like to have a tag designed, download the Organizational Vehicle Tag Application from the Organizational Vehicle Tags Package.
