Inspection Sticker Renewals

Skip the Trip LogoYou will receive a renewal notice 60 calendar days before your vehicle inspection expires. You will receive your renewal notice by email if you have provided DMV with your email address. You can provide your email address online at the link below:

All vehicles registered in DC must have a valid inspection. Therefore, if you fail to have your vehicle inspected prior to the inspection expiration date, you will be assessed late fees. Inspection fees will be charged at the time you register or renew registration for your vehicle. If your vehicle is still registered, but you cannot have it inspected prior to the inspection expiration date, you should cancel your registration by surrendering your tags at a DC DMV service center in order to avoid inspection late fees. Information on surrendering your vehicle tags is available at the link below:

Bring your vehicle inspection notice or vehicle registration information with you when you drive your vehicle to the DC DMV Inspection Station for inspection renewal.
