District DMV Locations to Close for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

(WASHINGTON, DC) – In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, all District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) locations will be closed on Saturday, January 18 and Monday, January 20, 2014. All DC DMV service centers, adjudication services, and inspection station will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

Customers are encouraged to plan ahead as the days before and after a holiday are usually busy. The following services are available online at dmv.dc.gov:

 

·         Renew vehicle registration (can only be done online or by mail; no in-person visit)

·         Obtain duplicate vehicle registration

·         Renew driver license

·         Obtain duplicate driver license

·         Renew identification card

·         Surrender tags

·         Obtain driver record

DC DMV has more than 30 online services, enabling customers to “skip the in-person trip.”
