On February 5, the Georgetown DMV Service Center experienced a significant water main break. Due to flooding impacts, the Georgetown DMV Service Center will remain closed to the public until further notice. DC DMV's services will remain available at our other locations, online and via our mobile app.

 

Due to a systematic issue with real-time authorization, the ACH/Electronic Check payment feature has been temporarily removed from all DMV online and mobile app transactions. Our team is working with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) to resolve the matter. Contactless, credit/debit card, cash, and check payments continue to be accepted in person.

Washington's Birthday/February Holiday Closing Schedule 2009

In observance of Washington's Birthday, the Department of Motor Vehicles will observe the following holiday schedule:

Saturday, February 14 - All DMV facilities will be closed.
Monday, February 16  - All DMV facilities will be closed.
Tuesday, February 17  - All DMV facilities will be open.

Due to the upcoming Washington's Birthday Holiday, ALL DMV facilities will be closed on Saturday, February 14th through Monday, February 16th. When the DMV reopens on Tuesday, February 17th, we typically have an increased volume of customers on the day after a holiday and will be extremely busy. Therefore, please plan your visit accordingly or use our online services
