DC DMV may issue a 5-day temporary registration if your vehicle inspection and registration stickers are expired. You must have your vehicle inspected before the 5-day temporary registration expires. This is a one time only 5-day issuance per vehicle.

The 5-day temporary registration may be obtained in-person at a DC DMV Service Center.
