-We are experiencing a system error that is causing duplicate refund checks to be issued to some DMV customers erroneously. If you have been affected by the glitch, to quickly resolve this matter please deposit or cash one check and destroy the other. If you attempt to cash the second check, it will not be honored by the bank.
We apologize to all DMV customers for the inconvenience as we diligently work to rectify this issue.

-DC DMV will no longer prevent DC residents from applying for a new or renewed driver license because of failing to meet the requirements of the Clean Hands Law.

A Message from Director Robinson

Spring is just around the corner and Team DMV is in full bloom! For those residents who need to visit a Service Center to complete your DMV business, we are open via walk-in service. As a reminder, many DMV services can be completed online or via our mobile app, allowing you to Skip-the-Trip.

In this month's newsletter, we offer some important tips to help prevent your teen from driving distracted. Also, please read on to learn more about the many organizational vehicle tags DMV offers and how to obtain a tag that represents an organization you're affiliated with. Additionally, learn more about our virtual hearings by listening to my recent podcast interview with the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA).

March is also Women's History Month and DMV is celebrating several women who have made significant contributions to the automotive industry. Visit us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to learn more! Finally, we include a reminder in this month's edition that masks are still required to be worn inside all DMV facilities until further notice. We appreciate everyone's cooperation.

In closing, please join me for our DMV Live Chat the first Thursday of each month. I'll be online for a full hour to respond in real-time to any of your DMV related questions. Our next live chat is scheduled for Thursday, April 7 at 12 p.m. Spread the word!

Thank you for reading this edition of our newsletter. Enjoy and stay safe!
