(Washington, DC) Due to a facility issue, the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DC DMV) Penn Branch Service Center located in the Penn Branch Shopping Center, 3220 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE will be closed on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. All other DMV locations will be open for business during their regular hours.

DC DMV is working to reopen the Penn Branch Service Center on Wednesday, November 14, 2012.

With a higher volume of customers expected at the other locations, individuals are encouraged to plan ahead, and when possible, use DMV’s online and mail services. Online services at www.dmv.dc.gov:

•Renewing vehicle registration (can only be done online or by mail; no in-person visit)
•Obtaining duplicate vehicle registration
•Renewing driver license
•Obtaining duplicate driver license
•Renewing identification card
•Surrendering tags
•Obtaining driver record

DC DMV has more than 40 online services, enabling customers to “skip the in-person trip.”
