Due to the Code Purple Air Quality Alert, DC DMV closed its Inspection Station, located at 1001 Half Street SW at 10 am. Customers who planned to visit the inspection station today because their inspection stickers are expiring will be given a five-calendar day extension to renew. DC DMV’s Service Centers will remain open during normal business hours. Many of DC DMV services can be completed online or via the mobile app, allowing customers to “skip-the-trip.”

On February 5, the Georgetown DMV Service Center experienced a significant water main break. Due to flooding impacts, the Georgetown DMV Service Center will remain closed to the public until further notice. DC DMV's services will remain available at our other locations, online and via our mobile app.

Driver License or Identification Card Application

The Driver License/Identification Card Application is used for original credentials, converting credentials from other jurisdictions, renewing credentials and obtaining duplicate/replacement credentials.

Effective June 26, 2018, if eligible, when you complete the application, you will automatically be opted in to register to vote unless you select to decline.
