To get a DC DMV intrastate CDL, you must be at least 18 years old, you must have a valid NCDL, you must have at least 2 years of driving experience, and you must have a good driving history.

A DC DMV intrastate CDL has certain restrictions:
- You may operate CMV Class C vehicles only.
- You may not get endorsements for H (Hazardous Materials), N (Tank), P (Passenger), S (School Bus), and T (Double/Triple Trailer) CMV classes.
